What educators are saying

My students loved playing with these papers as a part of our centers. I love that they can use dice to mix up the typical worksheet center. It was a center that they could complete independently and turn in so I can accurately check their understanding.
Great resource and activities for students! Covered many of the standards. I used this resource to supplement the phonics curriculum since it aligned well.

    Description

This Roll, Read and Write Games and Worksheets Bundle is designed to help students become confident adding -ing, -ed, -er and -ing endings.

    This bundle includes:

★ Words with a short vowel and one consonant after the vowel (CVC).

★ Words with a short vowel and two or more consonants after the vowel (such as CVCC).

★ Words with a silent e that is dropped before adding the ending.

★ Words with a y that is changed to an i before adding the ending.

★ Mixed words so students have to decide what do before adding the ending.

★ Complete the Chart and Read, Roll and Write activities for -er and -est.

Complete the Chart: Students fill in a series of charts to practice forming comparative and superlative adjectives. The first page is composed of words for which students simply add the ending. The second page focuses on words in which the silent e is dropped before adding the ending. The third chart provides practice in doubling the final consonant on the base word before adding the ending. On the fourth chart, students change the y to i before adding the ending. The final chart provides mixed practice. These activities are set up so students can either cut and paste or write the first word in each row. The format of each sheet remains the same, so once kids understand the activity they can focus on mastering the skill of adding –er and –est endings.

Read, Roll and Write Games: Students roll a die to determine which ending to add to each word. They then read the word and write the word with the -ing, -ed, –er or –est ending. I find that this simple activity makes practice/reinforcement fun for students. Three sheets and a template for a die are included for this game

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look!

    Sincerely, Anne Gardner (NBCT, Literacy)
