Great activities! My students enjoyed these! It was just what I was looking for to add hands on to my lesson on Newton’s first law.
Description
Students always enjoy testing inertia. This activity takes students through three activities that demonstrate Newton's First Law of Motion. Students should notice that an object at rest will stay at rest and an object in motion will stay in motion, unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
Materials needed: coins or washers, beaker or cup, note card, toy car.
Main topics: inertia, Newton's First Law of Motion
Quick, easy, and effective in demonstrating inertia. Great for middle school or introductory high school courses.
