What educators are saying

Loved this for my high school students to independently work on while we watched a movie about the Industrial Revolution!
I paired this with a section of the textbook that the seller provides so that my students were able to reference a specific article to complete the chart. Overall, I was satisfied and I think it gave my students a good overview of the inventions.

Description

This simple Industrial Revolution activity features a worksheet with 11 of the most significant inventions of the era. Students research to find the inventor, a picture, and a description for each. However, sometimes the invention is given, while other times students must start with the inventor or just a picture.

After completing the chart, students complete a free-response question on which invention they feel has had the biggest impact on the world today.

The inventions included on the chart are based all on state standards and include: the spinning jenny, steam engine, cotton gin, Bessemer Process, smallpox vaccine, radio, phonograph, Model T automobile, Pasteur's germ theory, the telephone, and the airplane.

An answer key is included for your convenience.

This download also includes both printable and Google Docs versions of the activity! If you're in a paperless classroom or just want to integrate more digital resources, you can use the provided link to bring this resource into Google Classroom!

For a more active class project on inventions, see this Industrial Revolution Inventors Infomercial Group Project.

You can also get both lessons as part of the Industrial Revolution Complete Unit Bundle!
