This lesson plan introduces your students to the history of decorating and adorning elephants in India. The lesson is perfect for 1st through 5th grade with some variations. Students will have the opportunity to explore line drawing and math skills by incorporating rulers and measurements.
The students will gain knowledge on a time honored tradition in Asia. The lesson will invite the child to create a beautiful unique art piece based on the theme and can be nicely offer a fine extension to talking about customs in India and increase awareness of the world they live in. You can easily incorporate character building and themes on how to make the world a better place to live.
