Incredibox 14-Week Unit-Description of Each Lesson

    Description

Incredibox Mega Bundle : 14-Week Incredibox Unit (Version 1) Working As A Class In Person/Remote

** Perfect for Distance Learning and in Person Learning**

This unit was designed for music teachers who need help starting and/or designing a  Music Technology course for their curriculum.

The best part is, Incredibox is a great free website to use in your music curriculum. It is a fantastic unit to use as an introduction to music technology and a stepping stone to different DAW’s such as Garage Band, Soundtap, Bandlab, etc.

In the incredibox 14 week-unit Bundle, students begin to learn the different forms and structures of music, how to compose melodies and ostinatos and how to use digital tools to create them. Forms in these lessons include Binary, Ternary, Rondo, Arch and Through Composed form. Students will also use the tools in the Chrome Lab Song Maker to compose melodies over the foundations of popular chord patterns used in “Pop” music as well as the 12-Bar Blues Pattern. Students will also learn about fundamental music elements through composing in Incredibox including listening, singing, melody, harmony, rhythm, beat, tempo and much more. Students will learn how to identify melodic and non-melodic instruments. These lessons can be completed at school and at home.

There are Two versions of every lesson I have designed for this unit.

Version 1: Working As A Class In Person/Remote: Designed with guided practice and collaborative work followed by an individual project in each lesson

Version 2: Independent Practice In Person/Remote: This version models to students how to complete the task, followed by an individual project in each lesson.

    ****Important*****

    1. You and your students need access to the free web version of Incredibox. Incredibox works on Mac and ChromeBooks. The free web version doesn’t work on Ipads.
    2. You and your students will need access to the free website The Google Chrome Lab Song Maker for Lessons 8-11 in this unit.
    3. This resource is in the format of Google Slides/Docs. Teachers and students will need Google access.
    4. Videos are embedded into the Google Slides and the share settings are set to “anyone can view.” Teacher accounts will be able to view all videos. Certain districts block student accounts from watching anything Google that is outside the district’s domain and require the teacher to be the “owner of the videos.” Please watch my “video directions” on my website. I have also included this information on my website under “video directions.” I provide directions on how to make yourself the “owner” of all the videos you have purchased.
    5. Please make sure if you purchase my lessons to watch the videos in the google slides labeled “Directions for the teachers.”
    6. For Lessons 12-13 You will need access to Youtube for these 2 lessons in the unit. If you are presenting the lesson to your students, you will need to have access to youtube to show them the video.
    7. For Lessons 12-13, If your students are working remotely and going through the slides on their own, then they will need access to Youtube for this lesson.
    8. *If you choose to buy individual lessons as opposed to the bundle, I highly recommend purchasing lesson 1, which will provide students with an introduction to Incredibox and the Incredibox Guide I have designed.
