What educators are saying

I used this in small groups as a competition. Was a great way to review push and pull factors! So fun!

Description

This resource contains 24 cards which each tell an immigrant’s story. Most of the people on the cards are fictional. However, the push and pull factors given are based on historical events that caused waves of immigration. Students will read the stories and decide whether they are an example of a push factor or a pull factor. These cards can be used in several ways:

  • Class discussion
  • Workstation
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Scoot
  • Human Timeline

Students should already have been introduced to push and pull factors before they complete this activity.

Please preview the cards before you use them with your class. You may feel the need to exclude certain cards depending on your student’s age, experiences, and maturity level.
