Description
Just in time for St. Patrick's Day or your study of Ireland, this 4th-12th grade unit introduces the student to the history of illuminated and Celtic manuscript. Each process from the making of parchment to the illumination of the text is discussed. Projects include step by step instructions for drawing a Celtic knot and illuminating the first letter of each student's name using acrylic paints (letter patterns provided). Calligraphy handwriting practice sheets are also provided. Great unit for home "schoolers" or GATE programs.
