Description

Using mobile phones is a way to motivate children to learn about conversation and dialogue in a fun way. The examples feature fairy tales as they are familiar to most children. However, the phone format could be adapted to any fictional or even real characters that are being studied. You could use Harry Potter, Tracy Beaker or even Shakespeare as inspiration!

  • Look at the phone examples together and from careful reading work out who the phones belong to.
  • Add speech to the bubbles, you could also add emojis, abbreviations or pictures to complete the conversations.
  • Make up some conversations of your own using the templates.

The activity can be done on a computer or on hard copies that are printed out. Images are in PNG format so the size can be adjusted. An adult or older child could type or scribe for younger / less able children.

Contains a teacher and student guide to the activities.
