This 20 page unit is loaded with meaningful activities to introduce students to a variety of idioms relating to the concept and genre of mystery. Thematic content helps students to “chunk” information for increased retention and comprehension.

Familiarity with figurative language increases literacy skills. Studying idioms broadens exposure to figurative language, helping students to become better readers and writers.

Additionally, studying idioms can help English language learners to become familiarized with the nuances of the language.

Activities are crafted with attention to Bloom’s Taxonomy.
