    Identity Bundle Teacher Guide

    Description

    Students will write a narrative essay about their identity by reflecting and analyzing who they were, who they are, and who they want to become. After, they will use the Identity Symbolism Mandala to create and explain different symbols for each section of their life that they wrote about in their essay. This establishes a visual pairing with the essay and will deepen their understanding of both narrative writing best practices and symbolism.

    These two assignments were originally designed to work together and I love incorporating this into my classroom as a two-week narrative writing mini-unit. Although both assignments are amazing on their own, this is the perfect bundle if you want to incorporate a visual component to go alongside your students' narrative essays.
