Identifying Theme Task Cards (Central Message) Reading Comprehension Passages

These task cards are a great way for students to have fun while finding the theme of a story. A recording sheet and an answer key is provided.

This activity has students reading 16 passages to each other and then asked to identify the theme out of two possible choices. There is also a version where students may come up with their own judgement as to what the theme is.
