What educators are saying

I used it as a resource while I developed a PD for 1st-year teachers in my district. As I was developing a professional development program for first-year teachers in my district, I found it to be a valuable resource to refer to.

Description

What is it?

This packet consists of 10 “Find Someone Who” icebreakers suitable for educator’s conferences, workshops, and faculty meetings. They were designed to play an important role in helping educators integrate and connect with each other in a fun and friendly way. Ten different “Find Someone Who…” icebreakers are included to ensure that you have enough to incorporate at least one per month.

Why should I incorporate icebreakers into my faculty meetings?

An Icebreaker: (example: Find Someone Who…)

 Builds rapport with co-workers, and school leaders

 Helps new faculty and staff to blend in

with the current faculty and staff

 Motivates faculty and staff to break out of their comfortable circle of co-workers

 Develops new relationships among ALL the faculty and staff

 Provides positive energy and a good atmosphere for learning and participation

 Allows the faculty and staff to laugh, dance, and “de-stress”

Find Someone Who…

“Find Someone Who…” is a fun icebreaker game to get everyone actively engaged in a workshop, conference, or meeting. This icebreaker prompts people to ask questions about others in the room. It is a 4X3 grid consisting of 12 individual squares. Each square has an intriguing or funny question to be answered by someone else in the room, and a line for their initials.

Objective: To be the first person to get all their squares initialed in five minutes or less

A few of my favorite question squares are “Find Someone who…”

 can name Snow White’s seven dwarfs

 will show you how to do the Electric Slide

 can finish the slogan..Gimme A Break, Gimme A Break…

 can demonstrate the dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller
