Description

This fully editable resource has been designed in line with the Australian Year 7-8 Civics and Citizenship Curriculum.

Students move through four stations in which they learn about the separation of powers (legislature, executive, judiciary) and changing the Constitution via a referendum. It is has been designed as an introductory task. Each station includes an information card which provides students with background knowledge of the area of study and a related activity. It also includes an exit ticket task.

Each station should take between 10-20 minutes depending of the level of your students. The total lesson should take between 1.5-2 hours.

Please note that some stations require the use of laptops.

Included resources:

-Lesson plan

-Station information cards

-Station task sheets

-Answers to station task sheets*

-Exit ticket sheets

-Exit ticket answer sheet

*Please note that one station task does not have answers provided. This is because the task requires students to find current ministers, and this changes frequently.
