Description

This is a resource every special education teacher should have! Data collection is a huge part of teaching (as we all know), and can become very easy to overlook when tangled in the mix of teaching a demanding curriculum, test prep, and just trying to maintain that consistent level of student engagement.
This is why I created a tool that can be used right alongside your curriculum. The Student IEP Goal Tracker is a chart that you can use for each of your IEP goals/objectives. Print out as many as you need for each student; write the goal/objective in the space provided. Then, as that skill comes up in the curriculum (or whenever you teach it), jot down the date, check off the mode it was taught in (whole group, small group, partner, etc.), and indicate any data or observations that went along with that lesson. It can be something as simple as an observation of a student struggling during the whole group lesson, or a snapshot of their work sample from small group.
I have my students' goals already written in and I create little folders for each student. If I'm working with that student on a goal, I simply grab the folder and jot down some info. I also like to keep a stack of blank forms at my small group table so I can easily pull for one if I don't have the folder on hand.
This is GREAT to bring to IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and it also will come in SUPER handy when you are writing your quarterly progress reports! PDF File
