Hunger Games Survival Scenario

This is a survival scenario based on the popular novel The Hunger Games. It's a great team building activity. Team members work together to decide which items they should keep in order to survive. The items were assigned numerical values based on their potential usefulness. The team with the most points "wins." Of course, there may be differing opinions on the usefulness of the items, so the point values can be easily adapted to fit your class.

My decisions for the point values were based on items the characters in the book used and my personal experience. As a Girl Scout, I learned wilderness survival, and I spent many weekends camping in the remote wilderness of the Southwestern United States. My father spent many hours teaching me backup plans in case we were separated or got lost. Thankfully, I never had to use them.
