What educators are saying

My students were completely engaged in this activity. They spent time in and out of class perfecting their parks.
This was a fun way to end the year! Students are so over tests by that point and this was a more fun engaging way to test what they have learned.

Description

Students love this hands-on project that features human body systems as amusement park rides and attractions. The directions and checklists are all editable, so you may easily alter things to meet your individual needs. This project is great for Makerspace, PBL, a recycling project, or an end of unit assessment.

Students select a human body system and create a 3-D model of an amusement park ride that takes the customer through the system. This can be done as an individual project or as a group. All the requirements and directions are ready to be printed and handed over. A second component to accompany the 3-D model, is a thorough portfolio that provides details about the ride. Directions for all 8 pages of the portfolio are provided and best of all...you can edit things to make it "your style".

Included in this product:

  • Clear directions for students to follow
  • Steps to guide the planning and designing processes
  • A checklist for students to use before handing anything in
  • 6 pages that are editable - in a PowerPoint format
  • Examples (photos) of other amusement park rides created by 8th graders
  • Rubric for quick grading
  • Tips and additional ideas for the teacher

Please note that the editable file is a PPT (PowerPoint).
