Human Body Labs

The labs for the five senses were created to teach students from K – 8 about the senses of their body. This zip file includes the labs for “Edible Eye”, “Great Vibrations”, “Simulated Stomach”, “Sugary Spine”, "Candy Heart", "Candy Cell" and “Nervous Nerves”. Also, there are handouts designed especially for younger readers with simple, easy-to-follow directions and separate handouts for parents, with an explanation, the science standard met (based on the California State Science Standards) and directions for how to complete the lab. Included are also the information and materials (sheets, breakdown) to create tri-fold display boards for each of these labs. The display boards make a fun and interesting classroom display. Each of the experiments can also be purchased separately.

I use these labs in my high school classroom as a refresher for my biology students and to scaffold more intricate information.

*Note, the "edible eye" is a lab and will only be edible if you allow your students to make "marshmallow" eyes or pre-make them*
