    Description

We are always looking for ways to keep students engaged in our lessons. Setting up archeology digs with your content can be a great way to do that!

Archeology Digs can be simple or elaborate. You can create them with a well-built structure or by using materials easily at hand (and easily stored). The content you include for students to find can also be basic introductory facts or may be well-developed clues that lead to higher learning.

In this bundle, you will find a video from the Interactive Classroom Professional Development Series on how to create an archeology dig in your classroom and you will also find a ready-to-use Archeology Dig Activity on Archeology Digs! It's a great way to introduce your students to the skills they can use over and over again in your classroom all year.

    Includes:

Use the accompanying BRAGS Sheet to examine your preconceived notions on interactivity in your classroom, to brainstorm your own ideas, and to record the valuable take-aways you will get from this professional development short.

Investigate this strategy as an individual classroom teacher, or purchase multiple licenses to present this quality video to a whole department or school. With approval from your district, this video series could help you meet professional development hours while learning real and valuable strategies that can truly transform your classroom, your teaching, and your students!

*While Social Studies and ELA resources are used to implement this strategy, the strategy itself is a valuable tool for use in any classroom for grades 4 and up.

The resource used in the video was my American Colonial Settlement Archeology Dig.
