The "How Many? Counting Numbers 11-20" SMARTboard presentation is a FUN, EXCITING, and CREATIVE way to reinforce counting strategies with your young students.

Utilizing this SMARTboard Activity, your primary students will explore COUNTING and NUMERAL RECOGNITION.

Students will look at visual representations of each number 11-20 on TEN FRAMES.

What are ten frames?
Ten frames are visual tools. This tool is a great way to help students "see" numbers and understand their place value. Utilizing ten frames can help students build a strong sense of numbers and their value. With continued practice, students will begin to instantly recognize the quantities and their value. What a valuable tool!

Students will be encouraged to COUNT 11-20 to distinguish "How Many?"

Each slide features adorable pictures (from www.mycutegraphics.com). After counting the pictures, students must identify the number that matches the value. You can either point to the matching number OR circle the matching number. Format the activity as you wish!

As a culminating activity, the last slide encourages students to find the missing numbers. The numbers 11-20 are placed in order. Students will need to determine which numbers are missing. Drag the missing numbers to place them in order. Then count 11-20!
