House Hunters International Worksheet

This activity can be used for any world language teacher. Just adjust to your language. HGTV has one of the best resources for WL teachers with the show House Hunters International. You can go on www.hgtv.com (full episodes) to find episodes. I then have the students complete this worksheet as they watch the show. They have to use some of the vocabulary for Home (Hogar) and learn what the monetary unit is (and in some cases have to convert). I stop the episodes to point out cultural items such as the lack of storage in a lot of the homes, the Spanish architecture, etc. The students absolutely love this activity and beg to do it again. Good for schools that require Cross-curricular activities.
