This Christmas around the world holidays research project will keep your students engaged before winter break! Students will research the holiday traditions of a different world culture and use their notes to create an interactive World Holidays Book using Google Slides.
Over 56 websites have been bookmarked for this project! The linked resources provide factual information on world holiday celebrations and customs. Students can also view videos and sites featuring cultural music and dance associated with their world countries!
This no-prep project is ready to implement! All materials are editable, research links are bookmarked, and a project example on Christmas in Spain is provided in order to motivate and excite your students.
Following their research, students will use Google Slides in order to create a Christmas Around the World eBook complete with representative images, background information, events and traditions.
Directions are included on how to make their digital eBooks interactive by hyperlinking a supplementary video, a website providing additional information about their country, or a link in order for readers to listen to cultural holiday songs!
The research-based Christmas Around the World Research Project includes the following resources:
- Access to an attractive Google Site featuring rich and animated images symbolic of world holiday celebrations
- An alternative editable project handout is included with the same animated graphics and information as the Google Site
- A digital note-taking handout with guiding questions and research prompts

The resource is designed for grades 6th-12th and will take 3-4 class periods to complete. All materials are compatible with Google Classroom. Directions are included for creating printable handouts or for downloading materials in Microsoft Office compatible format.
