    Description

Provided in this Bundle are holiday sets of task cards that deal with measuring that focus on the standards: CCSS K.MD.A.1, 2.MD.A.1, 3.MD.B.4. You can use these task cards to measure with standard (inch, half-inch, etc.) or non-standard units (unifex cubes, paperclips, etc.).

Use these 229 Holiday Themed picture cards with lines to make accurate measurements in a hands-on and engaging way. These response cards will help your students understand and grasp the concept of measurement, whether it is standard or non-standard units (CCSS K.MD.A.1, 2.MD.A.1, 3.MD.B.4). These task cards are ideal for test prep and will work well at math centers, stations, for partner work. I personally love using this with my whole class as a SCOOT type activity. A student answer sheet is included with picture visual for younger learners.

All 229 measuring cards are based around the holidays: Back to School, Halloween, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, President’s Day, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Earth Day, Cinco de May, Patriotic (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day)

    Common Core State Standard Alignment:

    CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.MD.B.4

Generate measurement data by measuring lengths using rulers marked with halves and fourths of an inch. Show the data by making a line plot, where the horizontal scale is marked off in appropriate units— whole numbers, halves, or quarters.

    CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.2.MD.A.1

Measure the length of an object by selecting and using appropriate tools such as rulers, yardsticks, meter sticks, and measuring tapes.

    CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.MD.A.2

Express the length of an object as a whole number of length units, by laying multiple copies of a shorter object (the length unit) end to end; understand that the length measurement of an object is the number of same-size length units that span it with no gaps or overlaps. Limit to contexts where the object being measured is spanned by a whole number of length units with no gaps or overlaps.

    CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.MD.A.1

Describe measurable attributes of objects, such as length or weight. Describe several measurable attributes of a single object.
