Description

Need to teach your students all about the history of Thanksgiving? This personal recount Thanksgiving writing activity will equip your students with first-hand knowledge about the history of the First Thanksgiving. The recount is narrated through the perspective of Mary (fictional character) aboard the Mayflower. She will connect to the reader with her gripping narration of the events that unfolded right when the Separatists left their small town in Nottinghamshire, England in the year 1620 to the time when they reached their final destination.

Your students will be able to recall dates and events that led up to the establishment of the Plymouth Plantation and consequently the celebration of the First Thanksgiving.
