- The civilizations of Nubia and Aksum
- The spread of Bantu migrations and language
- Great Zimbabwe
- Arab influences in the region
- Trans-Atlantic slave trade in the region
- European colonial rule and impact
- Kenya's road to independence (Kikuyu political party and Mau Mau movement)
- Africa's road to independence and differences of governments
- An exit ticket that asks an essential question about the theme of the lesson
This lesson can be taught in two ways:
- The traditional GoogleSlides and guided-notes that coincide
OR
2. Introducing the lesson with a discussion over the 'Earth's First People' in Southern and Eastern Africa and then establishing stations with task cards to be completed at each.
This lesson is highly engaging, interactive, creative, and hands-on! It comes with thorough teacher instructions and pictures of how I setup my stations for my own classes.
