What educators are saying

i used this resource with my Nothing but the Truth unit. This gave light for my students to who the person that wrote the Star Spangled Banner.
I loved this resource. I used it as we reviewed for our end of the year social studies test. We read together and students answered the questions independently.

Description

After the battle of Fort McHenry, in Baltimore, Maryland, Francis Scott Key wrote the words to the "Star-Spangled Banner. This product explains how that historical event happened in its informational text. There are also 10 fill-in-the blank questions. The questions are mainly literal reading comprehension ones. You get a picture of Francis Scott Key and an answer key. This product is a word document that you can easily print off and easily edit if you have to. It will make an excellent resource for teaching reading comprehension skills or for Teaching Reading in the Content Area of Social Studies, or for Teaching Reading in the Content Area of Music or even for Music Appreciation. It may also instill a feeling of patriotism towards being an American citizen (if that should be the case.)
