Description
A Hispanic Holiday digital bundle to teach your Spanish students about 5 Spanish holidays and celebrations: Dia de los muertos, Navidad, La Tomatina, Running of the Bulls, and Thanksgiving. All lessons are Google slides and/or docs with authentic and comprehensible cultural lessons.
A great bundle of lessons to use around Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas breaks! Save your time and sanity :)
What is included?
- La Tomatina WebQuest
- Students will navigate through authentic tasks, such as buying a Tomatina ticket, reading about the history, creating a shopping list, and more. Completed on Google Slides with readings, videos, and website links.
- Running of the Bulls Lesson (intermediate; some novice activities)
- Students will read about different aspects of La corrida de toros. There are reading comprehension activities, videos and questions, vocabulary activities, and discussion questions about the ethics of Running of the Bulls.
- La Navidad (Christmas) in Spain (novice & intermediate versions)
- 6 Authentic readings about 6 Christmas celebrations (Christmas Eve, New Years Eve, Lottery, etc.) Reading comprehension worksheets and Google Slides project slides that go along with each reading. Great lessons leading up to winter break!
- Día de los Muertos (novice & intermediate versions)
- Interactive Google Slides with 6 elements of Day of the Dead. Students will complete authentic tasks such as making their own papel picado, watching cooking videos, designing their own altar, and much more!
- Thanksgiving
- Although not a Hispanic holiday, it is a great lesson to get students writing and reflecting in the target language. Students will explain their family's traditions and customs including food, activities, and what they are thankful for. Another great lesson leading up to Thanksgiving break.
