What educators are saying
Description
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th to October 15th in the United States, honoring the culture, contributions, and accomplishments of Hispanic and Latinx Americans. To commemorate this special occasion, we have designed a set of reading comprehension activities and posters that are perfect for classrooms, homeschooling, or even personal use.
Our reading comprehension activities consist of 10 passages about famous Hispanic individuals who have made a significant impact in various fields, such as music, literature, science, and activism. Each passage is accompanied by a series of tasks that will challenge students to analyze, interpret, and synthesize information from the text. These tasks will check students' understanding in: summary, predictions, author’s purpose, context clues, main idea, comparison.
The passages in our activities cover a range of topics and individuals, including:
- César Chávez
- Oscar De La Hoya
- Lisa Fernandez
- Mario Molina
- Rita Moreno
- Sandra Cisneros
- Luis Walter Alvarez
