What educators are saying

Did a Gallery Walk with this, and my students absolutely LOVED it. Thank you for putting it out there!
This was an awesome way to introduce my students to some famous Spanish speakers and a great way to get them thinking about who they would like to research on their own!

Suggestions for use:

SPEAKING/LISTENING: Give each student a task card and they will pretend to be that person. Students ask each other questions to get signatures on their ¡FIRMA! / Find Someone Who Activitiy. Ex. Student 1: ¿De dónde eres? Student 2: Soy de Puerto Rico. Then they ask them to sign the Es puertorriqueño(a) box on their page.

READING: Place a task card on each desk and give students the Scoot comprehension questions. The student reads the task card on the desk and answers the question for that card. The teacher says SCOOT! or ¡MUEVAN! and students move to the next desk. This can also be done by placing the task cards around the classroom or hallway.

WRITING: Use the included paragraph template to transform the task card information into an introduction paragraph about the person. For higher levels, they can describe a day in the life of the person, what they did yesterday, or what they will do tomorrow, depending on the verb tense focus.

PRESENTATION: Have students introduce themselves as the person on the card. Ex. Me llamo Lin Manuel Miranda. Soy de Nueva York y soy puertorriqueño. Mi cumpleaños es el 16 de enero de 1980..." This could also be a good option for larger or more rowdy classes to complete the Firma Activity as they listen.

What Spanish teachers are saying about these task cards:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I use these throughout the year not just for HHM. Great five-minute filler activities and love the variety of people included! There are SO many activities that you could use these with. -SSR

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome!! I used this for all three levels of Spanish and it was great! Loved that it was available in both English and Spanish. -Ana G.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We did the Scoot activity, and I taped the cards all around the room. They loved moving around to search for the answers. The set itself is wonderful with multiple activity options and clear instructions on how to use it. Plus, it has both Spanish and English versions! -TPP

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was perfect for Hispanic Heritage Month! My students loved moving around and they learned a lot too. -Yvette M.
