■ Learners will be able to:

• recognize and match hiragana and katakana
• distinguish hiragana style and katakana style
• recognize names of colours (with the teacher's instruction)
• build words (with the teacher's instruction)

■ How to use

It is good to use this after students learn either all hiragana or katakana so that matching both characters has more sense and engaging.

1. Maze: Solve the maze colouring hiragana and katakana.
2. Character search: Search the characters indicated bottom. The teacher can indicate colour to use for each character as well ( in Japanese or classroom language).
3. Options for early finishers

• It would be challenging to make words from the characters in the box.
• Learners can colour more characters which they know.
• Learners also can simply colour the rest of hiragana and katakana in different colours ( to distinguish hiragana and katakana). This would be a nice colourful decoration in your classroom.

• 「なんこ・～こ」：「ひらがな／カタカナの◯は なんこ ありますか」－「◯こ あります」
• 「いくつ・～つ」：「ひらがな／カタカナの◯は いくつ ありますか」－「◯つ あります」
• 「どこですか」ー「ここです」
• 「むずかしい／やさしい（かんたんな）」：「むずかしかったですか／やさしかったですか（かんたんでしたか）」ー「むずかしかったです・むずかしくなかったです／やさしかったです・やさしくなかったです（かんたんでした・かんたんじゃなかったです）」
