Description

Hip Hip Hooray for Thanksgiving Day is an interactive SmartBoard Lesson that is intended to last several days.

Day 1-Complete the first two sections of a KWL about Thanksgiving.
There is also a short lesson to introduce the students to the Pilgrims, the
Mayflower and the Wampanoags. It compares the journey of the Pilgrims to a trip
to the moon.

Day 2-The Mayflower
Day 3-The Pilgrims
Day 4-The Wampanoag
Each of these pages are linked to Scholastic.com where your class will be able to watch a
virtual field trip to the Mayflower II, Plimoth Plantation and the Wampanoag Homesite.
Each virtual field trip lasts between 17 and 20 minutes.

The page following each of the links provides space to do a short summary and to compare
and contrast transportation, houses, and clothing then and now.

The final day complete the last section in the KWL about Thanksgiving.

The additional worksheets provide 2 writing/drawing opportunities for your students.
