    Do your students struggle with vocabulary and word choice when it comes to writing? Improve student writing with this engaging lesson on diction.

    Teach students about diction and shades of meaning through this interactive NO PREP lesson that will improve their vocabulary by expanding their diction while working on technology skills and creativity. This digital lesson and activity can be used for your students in high school, middle school, or upper elementary school with three options for differentiation and scaffolding. Works for in person or online learning!

    Students are either guided by a teacher video or teacher notes to complete  2 slides of notes, see a shade scale example and practice a “shades of meaning” that also comes with a tech tutorial video. The final assessment for understanding has students create their own shades of meaning scale with 3 levels of differentiation by providing students with a full word list, partial word list, and one word list and multiple creating options for students.
