What educators are saying

Excellent resource that includes material that started some very interesting conversations as well as writing.
This is the best resource I’ve purchased in a long time!! My students LOVED the topics. Lessons enabled many rich discussions and strong opinions. Student writing samples were excellent. I can’t wait to use this again!

    Description

This bundle of argumentative writing lessons challenges students to think, write and reflect on key issues around social media and new technologies in their lives.

Spread over 8 complete lessons, students are guided to:

    • differentiate between fact and opinion
    • sort real contemporary evidence
    • complete a topic and concluding sentence workshop
    • practice embedding quotes in paragraphs
    • produce evidence-supported paragraphs.

By the end of this learning sequence students will have practiced a variety of skills necessary to produce strong argumentative responses and written a number of complete paragraphs.

Each lesson is fully optimised for both print or digital delivery and can be used effectively for both in-class or for distance learning.

As a teacher I have found the best way to engage my students in argumentative writing is to ask them to grapple with real issues that directly impact their lives. This bundle represents the strongest argumentative writing lessons I have run.

I hope this learning sequence is as impactful for your students as it has been for mine. Happy teaching :)
