Students learned alot about animals during the winter. They began to act like animals and observed more outside to see if they could find habitats.
This was such a fun Activity!!! Students were SO engaged and applying their knowledge!! This got my students excited about learning and showed them how they can use this knowledge outside of a typical academic class!!! looking forward to doing this with my students again next year!!
Description
Hibernation, Migration, and Adaptation of winter animals is the focus of this 10 day inquiry-based kindergarten science unit!
Also includes a shelter design challenge full of critical thinking and hands-on problem solving!
Next Generation Science Standards* aligned!
Literacy skills are embedded into the lessons: Non-fiction text, speaking/listening, writing response, and technology
A compelling question guides the unit and supporting questions help students to focus their knowledge and build to a greater understanding. Students are working on higher level thinking skills and building vocabulary. All activities are appropriate for winter in kindergarten.
This unit was designed and tested by 3 kindergarten teachers. Any and all updates in the future to this unit are included in the cost. Please always check back for updates.
