Description
Enjoy this free introduction to archetypes and the hero's journey. I've included two folding graphic organizers that you can use with any hero's journey. Teach archetypal symbolism with the first foldable, then extend that to the hero and create a representation of eight sections of the journey. I used it with The Odyssey, but it will work for so many others: Harry Potter, The Epic of Gilgamesh, Beowulf, Lord of the Rings,Percy Jackson, or movies that involve the hero's journey Star Wars, Black Panther, Spiderman, The Lion King, etc.
Check out this link where I assemble the project. Click here
I begin the lesson with a review of archetypal symbolism. The folding graphic organizer is a perfect way to review basic categories like colors, numbers, and characters. It will generate a great conversation with your students when you discuss examples of different types of archetypal characters and situations. I've included an answer key if you need ideas.

How to earn TPT Credits:
"Earn TpT Credits for purchases on TpT. You get one TpT Credit for every $ you spend on TpT. Thing is, you only get the Credits after you Provide Feedback -- both a fair rating and a fair comment -- on the items that you purchase. We will round up for you, too! If you provide fair feedback on a $4.75 item, you will earn 5 credits. Every 100 Credits is worth $5 that you can apply towards future TpT purchases, but there is no need to wait until you have 100 to redeem them. 50 credits is worth $2.50, for example."--TPT Credits Page
