What educators are saying

Great resource. Used in conjunction with the other resources the author made about Hercules for a mini unit.
Sometimes you need a movie day (especially towards the end of the school year)! I loved this lesson. Students had to read/analyze primary sources then compare and contrast to the video. I plan to use this again next year!

Description

Students compare and contrast primary and secondary sources using the myth of Hercules and the 12 labors with the Disney movie. Sometimes we just need a movie day! Ultimately, students argue is Hercules was a hero or not. Their answers are always very insightful!

Included in this lesson:

-lesson plan outline

-primary source reading

-student worksheet for primary source (I make these two double sided)

-Primary v. secondary source chart

-answer key

Project Duration:

1 day for myth and worksheet

2-3 days for movie, I like to break it up so we’re not watching a movie all day.
