Herbivore Omnivore Carnivore - Food Chain - Card Sorting Activity -Three Part Cards - Montessori - Science Activity

This card sorting activity is ideal for learning about the Food Chain. Learn by sorting and matching the animals with their labels and food chain group. There’s a variety of ways to use this learning tool--try it as a game, independent activity, or lesson follow-up.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Have the children place the labels “Carnivores”, “Herbivores”, and “Omnivores” at the top of a rug or table. They can read the definition of each category (or you can read it to them) and have them decide which category the definition belongs to. Next, have them sort the animal cards--placing each card in the correct category with its matching label. Use the control card as needed.

EXTRA:
Use the blank cards to have children draw their own animals to add to the sorting set.
