Description

This is a coloring sheet with text all about radiation, a type of heat transfer. The concept is defined in both text and drawings. Radiation is defined, and several concepts involving radiation are covered in a visual format with supporting text. These concepts include the origin of the word "radiation," distance from source as it relates to temperature, absorption of heat transmitted by radiation by dark and light colored objects, and many examples of radiation. In addition, there is a big section about the electromagnetic spectrum. This coloring activity is designed with embedded text so that kids can read and color, and the coloring is set up so that both "careful" and "non careful" colorers can have fun while learning. (If you've ever done coloring in class, you will have met both types of colorers!) You can give each kid a sheet or you can cut it up and jigsaw this activity. There is a crossword puzzle that draws from the vocabulary on the coloring sheet, too. Great for visual and kinesthetic learners, this is one more in a series of science coloring pages by Kelly Terry. Feedback appreciated; it helps me do better each time!
