Heart Word / Sight Word / High Frequency Word NO PREP Packet

This packet can work with ANY curriculum and is aligned to Science of Reading!

Let’s take a look at how these pages work:

1. Read the word It’s important for students to hear themselves read the word aloud and hear the sounds in the word.
2. Map the word Students segment the words into sounds (phonemes) and place a manipulative (or touch each box) for each sound they hear.
3. Trace the word
4. Write the word
5. Heart the word Students may know most of the sounds in a word, but the parts that are “tricky” are parts they must learn by heart. Students put a heart under the tricky part. As more phonics skills are learned, less parts will be tricky. For example, in the word “look” students may know the l and k, but not the /oo/ sound. Put a heart on the /oo/ sound.
6. Find the word Students search and circle for their word in the box.
