Students will

• follow the scientific method and think like a scientist.
• learn how to find their pulse.
• Choose a hypothesis and investigate the answer.
• Explain that as exercise increases, my heart beats faster.
• Record observations and data.
• Create a bar graph.
• Summarize the results of the experiment in an age-appropriate way.
• Complete and chart exercises for at least one week.
• Learn that exercise is important for the heart.

We estimate 1 week in class and 1 week for the exercise tracker if you complete everything. Each activity can be completed on its own but is most complete if done together.

Supplies Needed

Student, Chair, Stopwatch, or Secondhand, tennis balls, rubber bouncy balls, glue, scissors. That's it!
