What educators are saying

Thank you for making a resource that made my kid's eager to build their vocabulary skills! I enjoyed the lesson as much as my students did.
This went really well with my Harry Potter unit and word study unit that I was already using with my class. It was a nice connection that engaged the students.

Description

This is a fun, engaging, and no-prep introduction to Greek and Latin roots. Students will learn what roots are and why they should care. They will examine examples of spells from the Harry Potter series that are based primarily on Latin roots. Finally, they will get to practice inferring the meanings of Latin roots and words from context based on the names of spells and their definitions.

  • This is perfect for adding to interactive notebooks. If you do so, make copies at 90% to ensure they fit.
  • Everything is ready to print and go, and an answer key is included. All files are saved in PDF to secure the font and clip art.

PS - Looking for more Greek and Latin roots resources? Check out my Greek & Latin Roots Quizzes, Test, and Master List Bundle - 8 weeks worth of quizzes with answer keys and a master list to work from.

Enjoy!
