Hanukkah ABC Challenge (Hebrew + English) אתגר אותיות לחג חנוכה

A fun seasonal letter activity in Hebrew and English for the holiday of Hanukkah.

The goal of the activity is to find at least one Hanukkah related word for each letter of the alphabet.

This activity includes:

• A format in English (a table with all the alphabet letters and a blank space for writing words).
• A blank word search format (English)
• A list of suggested words (answer key) in English
• A format in Hebrew (a table with all the alphabet letters and a blank space for writing words).
• A blank word search format (Hebrew)
• A list of suggested words (answer key) in Hebrew

The goal of the activity:
Practicing Hanukkah vocabulary

How to play:
1. Distribute the empty ABC format sheets and instruct the students to list at least one word related to Hanukkah for each letter of the alphabet.

2. Afterward, encourage them to share their responses and discuss any common words or unique ideas that emerged.

3. You can also provide the blank word search format for their use. Once they've completed their word lists, suggest that they select 10 words to create their own word search puzzle. They can then exchange their puzzles with a classmate and solve each other's creations.

4. For reference, a list of suggested Hanukkah-related words, organized alphabetically, is provided.

הפעילות כוללת:

2. תפזורת ריקה בה יוכלו התלמידים לשבץ את המילים שמצאו להחליף ביניהם תפזורות- בעברית.

3. רשימת מילים אפשרית מוצעת בעברית.

איך משחקים?

1. מחלקים לתלמידים את הפורמטים הריקים. על כל תלמיד לכתוב מילה אחת לפחות עבור כל אחת מאותיות הא'-ב'. על כל המילים להיות קשורות לחג חנוכה!

2. לאחר השלמת המשימה, אפשר ליצור לוח קבוצתי או כיתתי של כל המושגים שהועלו בכל אחת מהאותיות. בהמשך לכך, אפשר לנהל דיון- האם היו תשובות שחזרו על עצמן? האם היו תשובות יצירתיות במיוחד? וכדומה.

3. לאחר שיסיימו לכתוב את כל המילים, יכולים התלמידים לשבץ 10 מהמילים לבחירתם בתפזורת, להחליף תפזורות עם תלמידים אחרים ולפתור את התפזורות שקיבלו.

4. לפעילות מצורפת טבלה עם מילים מוצעות בהתאם לא'-ב' לעזרה ולבקרה.
