Handwriting Practice for Older Students Handwriting Without Tears® style OT ESL

These handwriting practice sheets are ideal for all types of students, however I curated this bundle with older students in mind - new or struggling writers who have trouble forming their letters and do not wish to have cutesy or distracting illustrations. They are also a great alternative for occupational therapy or ESL use.

➤➤ PLEASE READ before purchasing: The practice sheets in this bundle teach/review each letter individually. These are BEGINNING level handwriting worksheets. It is important for new writers to practice everyday for a short, focused time. Daily focused practice is an important long term component of building good handwriting skills. Many times students are taught each letter once with a page of practice and then it is assumed that they know how to write properly. Continued daily practice and attention to letter formation is required to develop good handwriting. These practice sheets will build your student's handwriting skills and confidence.

These printables can be printed over and over again so the student gains muscle memory when practicing their capital letters. There are many other handwriting worksheets out there, but these sheets have only the capital letters (or vice versa). Most other handwriting printables include the accompanied lower case letter. The Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum highly discourages this. Their teaching guidelines suggest starting with capital letters alone before teaching the lower case letters.

With proper use, these practice sheets are designed to correct the following concerns:

⭐️⭐️ I SEE HUNDREDS OF HANDWRITING PRODUCTS ON TPT - WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE THIS ONE? ⭐️⭐️

Most of the products sold on TpT are created with programs such as PowerPoint® or Canva. These are great for making slide shows or quick ready to use graphics, but they are not built to create professional quality worksheets. ALL of my products are designed on Adobe InDesign - the industry standard software for layout and typesetting. It is the same software used to create worksheets, textbooks, and magazines that you would find in a bookstore. By using this program, I am able to fine tune every detail in my worksheets to ensure each letter, line, and image is exactly where it should be. This means that your students will have greater success in forming their letter strokes and formations. The lines on the paper are perfectly formatted to align with every letter. And with my extensive typesetting background, I ensured each letter is properly kerned (spaced). All of these are important factors in ensuring success for new and struggling writers. The fonts used on many other TpT handwriting products are not designed for handwriting instruction. The handwriting fonts I use in all of my practice sheets were custom designed by me - specifically to use for handwriting practice.

As a former Disney graphic designer (and typography enthusiast), I took extra care to ensure the authenticity of the letter strokes and formation. My worksheets fill in the gaps and provide ample practice for your students to grasp the muscle memory needed for proper handwriting instruction. As a graphic designer AND teacher, I've worked tirelessly to create a quality product that meets the needs of beginning writers. Many other handwriting practice pages out there do not meet the appropriate size, scale, spacing, and proportions needed for success in these areas. For new or struggling writers, the actual design of the worksheet is as important as the content.
