Hands-on Science Activities About Plants in Chinese Immersion/Bilingual Class

Teach your students science concepts while they practice their language skills with these interactive and hands-on classroom activities. This package will encourage them to think about the ways plants impact our lives and reinforce their knowledge about the different parts of plants.

What is Included:

How to Use:

1. For lower-level students, you can use the Discussion Sheet as a hook or brainstorm for the lesson and ask students to discuss what they know about plants as a way to pre-assess students’ knowledge. Higher-level students can write their responses before sharing.

2. For the Label Activity, you can ask students to cut out each word and paste it in the correct location. Or you can ask students to write the words by hand.

3. You can use the Puzzle Activity as a teaching material about the different parts of a plant. The students can cut it along the dotted lines into four parts, shuffle them, and then put them together in the correct order. Students can also do the activity in pairs.
