What educators are saying

Takes a bit of prep since it requires to print in color or colored paper, but it is a wonderful resource. It is worth the prep and it clarified a lot of misconceptions for my students. Overall, it was a great way to practice putting together an ECR.
This resource was exactly what I needed for teaching and modeling. This has been a game changer when I plan each unit. My students are showing amazing growth and confidence in more than just the SCRs and ECRs, after implementing the four-square model!

This resource bundle contains two of the popular hands-on revising color-coded activities that will help your students to put the pieces of the ECR (extended constructed response) essay together while learning organizational structure and revising! This includes one ECR for argumentative and one for informational. Both are sample exemplar essays. Students will learn about transitions when they add in the orange pieces. Each key component of the essay is color coded in sentence strips. There is also a drop down Google Doc transition quiz to get your students ready for those revising questions with the new STAAR question types.

Each individual resource has a preview PDF file to view.

Also, here are two videos of my students doing the hands-on revising argumentative activity in my classroom. It created some great discussions about the structure of ECRs! This was a great way to introduce ECRs! My facebook page is: Teaching RLA with Carlin Liborio

There is also a dead giveaway lesson and revising tips and tricks to help your students be masters at revising!

These go with Storyworks articles in the 4th grade paid subscription, but the passages are not necessary to do the activities. These hands-on revising activities could be for grades 3-8 since they primarily look at the structure of the ECRs.
