What educators are saying

This resource has been so helpful to get a deeper look at where my students are. It has really given me the support to group my students based on their needs and knowing what unit I need to have them at.
I love the overall look of these and my students are super engaged. They go along nicely with my phonemic awareness curriculum as well

    Description

Are you looking for fun, multi-sensory ways to get kids engaging with reading? These hands-on Science of Reading centers come with word mapping mats, decoding games, articulation puzzles, and so much more to help you with that goal! These interactive activities and tools support the brain in practicing orthographic mapping and articulation that is so essential for early readers and writers.

What’s included in the Science of Reading centers and tools bundle?

    ⭐️ 26 self-correcting alphabet articulation puzzles

    ⭐️ 7 self-correcting digraph articulation puzzles

    ⭐️ 50 CVC picture cards

    ⭐️ 10 CVCe picture cards

⭐️ 17 magnetic-letter compatible alphabet arcs with sound boxes

⭐️ 51 word mapping mats with 2-5 sound boxes

⭐️ 1 word mapping mat with 4-sound box and -e

    ⭐️ 3 alphabet dice

    ⭐️ 2 digraph dice

⭐️ 3 decoding game recording sheets

    AND MORE!

Students will manipulate and interact with sounds and words on their level as it is easy to differentiate and use no matter what level they are on throughout the whole year! The alphabet articulation puzzles are perfect for the beginning of the year and the self-correcting feature ensures that no matter their beginning understanding, they can work independently

The alphabet arc set comes with 75+ options to include magnetic letters for tactile heart word practice, blending arrows as an extra reminder to re-read, hearts above words to point out specific parts of words, and more! This is the most important and my favorite tool to use to create a hands-on Science of Reading aligned classroom.

    Unique features:

✅ Differentiating is made easy for all learners’ levels

✅ Supplement for current phonemic awareness curriculums

    ✅ Color or black-and-white options

✅ Mouth articulation visual that connects to a sound wall

    ✅ Classroom tested for years

This versatile, hands-on Science of Reading centers bundle (100+ pages) keeps learners engaged with multi-sensory learning and intentional play in mind. The rollercoaster word mapping mats come with 60 picture cards for use with the mats or for other instruction and activities. They provide a rollercoaster visual to remind students to stretch out the sounds with their hand motions and listen carefully for those middle sounds.

The alphabet dice decoding game is a staple in my classroom as I’m able to have kids practice decoding skills while rolling and reading the words they create. I love to differentiate by having students start with 2 dice for VC words and work up to 3 dice to practice reading CVCe words.

    Ideas for use:

    • Give each student a word mapping mat during small group heart word practice for a systematic and quick form of practice
    • Dedicate time for specifically for leveled, hands-on Science of Reading centers
    • Students work in pairs to roll and read nonsense and real CVC words to each other with the dice decoding game
    • Use the CVC picture cards for a specific vowel’s practice
    • Use the self-correcting articulation puzzles to practice referencing your sound wall and independent practice
    • Send home a page-protected word mapping mat for heart word practice at home (directions for families available here)
