This lesson utilizes only about the first 15 min of "Hamilton: The Musical" to discuss immigrants in the US. Students are encouraged to think critically about and share their experiences as descendants of immigrants or immigrants themselves, as the teacher provides prompts for listening and discussion with each song.
A follow-along handout is provided.
Optional homework assignment is provided that asks students to learn about their family's immigration story.
