Halloween ELA Centers w/ Halloween Writing & Craft Activities, Fall Story Retell

Bring some Halloween Fun to your Literacy Block this fall! Your students will create a pumpkin (Jack-O-Lantern), Frankenstein, Candy Corn, and more! There are Halloween Literacy Centers included as well such as ABC Order, Making Words, Sorting Words, Pros and Cons of Candy, Halloween Safety, and more! There are 12 Halloween activities for students!

Here's What is Included:

• My Pumpkin Craft and Writing: Students create a Jack-O-Lantern and write a story about their pumpkin

• Frankenstein Writing and Craft: Students create a Frankenstein and write a story about their Frankenstein

• Candy Corn Retell: Students create a Candy Corn Craft and write the beginning, middle, and end of a story they have read

• My Pumpkin Retelll: Students create a pumpkin booklet. Students retell a story they have read as they write about the beginning, middle, and end of the story

• Frightening ABC Order: This Literacy Center has students putting 15 Halloween word/picture cards into ABC Order. After ordering the words, students write a story using some of the words.

• Halloween Making Words: This Literacy Center has students creating new words from the word HALLOWEEN. Students rearrange the letter cards to make new words.

• Halloween Parts of Speech: This Literacy Center has students sorting words into these three Parts of Speech Categories: Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives.

• Comparing Holidays: This Literacy Center has students comparing Halloween and Christmas. Students sort the holiday activities based on which holiday is being described. Students use the Venn Diagram recording sheet to further compare the two holidays.

• Retelling the Story: This Literacy Center has students retelling a story on the BME ghost graphic organizer.

• Halloween Safety Rules: This Literacy Center has students sorting statements based on whether that activity SHOULD or SHOULD NOT be done on Halloween. After sorting, students write 6 Halloween Safety Rules

• Eating Candy: Pros and Cons: This Literacy Center has students discussing the pros and cons of eating candy. After discussing, students record a few pros and cons on their graphic organizer.

• My Halloween: This Literacy Center has students writing about their favorite Halloween experience or traditions.

• Halloween Banner: Print and display this Halloween Banner with student work
