Guided Reading and Small Group Lesson Plan Templates {Editable}

This resource includes a variety of Guided Reading and Small Group Lesson Plan Templates that I have developed and used throughout the years.

Each template is provided in two formats: Standard PDF and Editable PowerPoint. You do not have to be familiar with PowerPoint to use these templates. Just open the file and type information in boxes that clearly say, "Type Here."

These templates are designed to help busy teachers save time while planning, documenting, and implementing guided reading groups.

Information Regarding Editable PowerPoint:

When the PowerPoint initially opens, there will be a button at the top of the screen saying, "Enable Editing." Click this button so you will be able to make changes to the file.

Each editable field features rich text, so you can change the font, color, or text size within any editable field.

These fields are set up with auto-fit. If you fill the field and keep typing, the font size will automatically decrease to keep the text within the borders.

To fill in the editable fields in these lesson plans, select Type Here and then type. If you prefer not to start by selecting Type Here, you can also just start typing at the beginning of the field and then delete Type Here from the end of the field.

Upon completing a lesson plan, I recommend saving it by the book title. This allows you to pull the plan back up and edit that plan when you use the book again with the next group.

Once you have selected a template, it may be handy to save it under a new file name, delete all the other pages, and save once again. This will allow you to pull up a file with just the page you prefer.
