What educators are saying
Description
This packet includes a series of Parent Handouts featuring Recommended Guided Reading Book Lists for Levels G through P.
This resource was completely updated on 2/18/2020.
A single-page Parent Letter with Information Regarding Guided Reading Levels is included. In this handout, reading levels are presented as a tool to help teachers and parents select books that a reader is likely to experience success with at his/her current stage of development.
This handout stresses that reading levels do not define readers, and clarifies why it is in a child's best interest to read within a range of levels.
This resource consists of one page of recommendations for each Guided Reading Level from G (Mid-First Grade) to P (Third Grade).
** Please Note: The handouts in this packet are a subset of the following resource:
Reading Strategies for Parents Handouts: Guided Rdg. Levels A - P. Please do not purchase this resource if you already own the complete set. (The resource was created, upon request, for teachers who need only the book lists.)
The books included on these lists are generally accepted as high-quality and also most likely to be found at public libraries. These simple handouts are perfect to send home as students progress throughout the year!
You can view sample book lists by taking a look at the preview.
Sincerely, Anne Gardner (National Board Certified in Literacy)
