Q: Are there comprehension questions for every level?
A: Yes, there are different types of comprehension questions, based on the reading level of the passages. Kindergarten reading passages have a basic fill-in-the-blank sentence, with picture cues. First-grade passages have a mix of short answers and multiple-choice questions. Second, third, and fourth-grade passages have a mix of true/false, multiple-choice, and short answer questions. Answer keys are provided for all.
Q: How do I know if I need the digital version?
A: With so many teachers now teaching remotely, they are finding that they need to be able to use and assign reading passages in an online, digital manner. I created a digital version of my reading passage and comprehension checks using Google Slides and Google Forms. The reading passages will create a high level of engagement for your readers and are perfect for remote learning. You can learn more about how I use these reading passages for synchronous and asynchronous learning here: Teaching Reading Remotely Using Synchronous and Asynchronous Learning

Q: How can I use these passages?
A: Although these passages are leveled for the purpose of using them with guided reading groups, they can also be used in many other ways. Classroom teachers can use these passages for a shared reading or read aloud. Teachers can also send home these passages for extra practice. Reading interventionists can use these passages in their small groups. Students can read these passages independently or while working in literacy centers.
